Lisarow Ourimbah Black and Terrigal Matcham remain undefeated after three rounds of the CCCA Women's 1st Grade competition with Kincumber Avoca and Lisarow Ourimbah White also recording wins in Round 3. The match between the two Northern Power sides resulted in an exciting tie.

At Don Small Oval, Terrigal Matcham made it 3 wins from 3 starts defeating Wyong Green by 4 wickets.

Batting first Wyong led by 40 not out from Brittany Mortimer and 29 not out from Kristy Clouten, the pair putting on 61 runs for the 4th wicket, were able to reach 5/133 from their allotted 20 overs. Bellbirds captain, Ella Merritt was the most successful bowler with two wickets.

In reply, Terrigal Matcham were able to pass the target with 3 overs to spare courtesy of 34 retired from young gun Emily Humphries and 33 from Merritt. Zoe Shearman and Clouten each took a wicket for Wyong.

At Tunkuwallin Oval, The Northern Power sides put on an exciting match with both sides being unable to be separated after 40 overs of cricket. For the Orange side it is their second tie in three matches.

Winning the toss and batting, Orange were in early trouble as Kelly Jolley took two early wickets including the prized scalp of Crystal Osborne. The Orange side were able to regroup and through Kerry Seymour 23 and Rebecca Callan 13 were able to tally 74 at the end of their 20 overs.

Taking to the crease the Blue side were cautious in their response although skipper Kylie Taylor was the mainstay at the top of the order and with seven runs required from the final three overs looked to have the win in the grasp. However the return of Osborne and Orange skipper Sam Thomas to the bowling attack brought the scoring to a halt and left 4 runs to win from the final over to be bowled by Seymour. The equation was reduced to 3 off two balls then two of the final ball in which Taylor managed a single to leave the scores locked together. Taylor finished unbeaten on 35 whilst Osborne took 2/10 off her 4 overs and Leesa Sternback 2/11 off 2 overs.

Wyong Green made their Women's 1st Grade debut when they faced off against Kincumber Avoca at Terrigal Haven. The Green side were at late inclusion after Wyong were able to field two sides and included players from last year premiership winning team.

Kincumber Avoca won the toss and batted and with last weeks Player of the Round, Layla Graham excelling again, this time with the bat, the Griffens were able to score 157 before being dismissed in the final over. Graham finished with 51 from just 26 balls which included 9 fours and a six. The Kincumber Avoca innings was boosted by 71 sundries. 2020/21 Women's A Grade Player of the Year, Jacinta Crawford was the pick of the Wyong bowlers with 3/16 from her 4 overs.

In response, Wyong Gold finished with 7/122 from their 20 overs, with Eliza Thompson topscoring with an excellent 52 (6 fours, 2 sixers) whilst Crawford scored 21 at the top of the order. Graham capped off an excellent match taking 2 wickets.

Lisarow Ourimbah Black kept their unbeaten start to the season in tact with a 69 run win over a determined The Entrance outfit at Lisarow Sporting Field.

Batting first, Lisarow Ourimbah Black led by Piper Hooke 27 retired, Jade Burkinshaw 19 and Keely McKenzie 14 were able to finish their 20 overs at 3/115. Oliva Field was excellent with the ball taking two wickets whilst Nicola Gough also took a wicket.

Andrews finished with 2/11, Hooke 2/8 and Burkinshaw 1/5 off 4 overs. Skipper Danni Thorp also took a wicket.

After being sent into bat, Lisarow were able to finish their 20 overs on 0/143 with skipper Amy Cunningham showing her class with 40 and Sophie Karczmarz 24, Annalise Brewster 23 and Ashleigh MacKenzie also making significant contributions.

In response Narara Wyoming batted their 20 overs to be 3/53. The highlight for the Lions was the performance of youngsters Ashley Owen, Emile Stevens who both retired on 15 and 12 respectively whilst Karen Gaiser also retired after opening the batting.
