The Central Coast will host the Northern Pool of the McDonalds Country Cricket NSW Opens Country Championships this Friday-Sunday at Central Coast Regional Sporting & Recreational Complex, Tuggerah.
Central Coast will be joined by Central Northern , Newcastle and North Coastal in the round robin event which will see a 50 over per side match each day. The winner of this carnival will play the winner of the Southern Pool in the final to be held at Bradman Oval, Bowral on Sunday, February 13.
Central Coast have selected a strong side to be led by Kincumber Avoca batsmen, Steve McCabe as they look to claim the Country Championship crown for the first time. Newcastle will once again enter the carnival as favourite after claiming the title for a record 17th time last year despite losing to the Central Coast in the Northern Pool. Unfortunately a previous day loss to Central Northern prevented the Central Coast from progressing through to the final.
