Results from U16 female state championships, held at Tuggerah this week.

U16s Monday

A great effort that wasn’t reflected in the results for our first game against Newcastle, with the Hunter team winning by seven wickets. CC ended up 5/78 and Newcastle were 3/79.

AlexBobbi Smith had a great game as our highest scorer, clocking up 28 runs of our 78 total AND taking two of our three wickets to finish 2 for 17 off three overs.

This afternoon’s match was a big WIN for the Coasties, finishing up 4/151 over Riverina at 5-87.

Congratulations everyone, shout out to Ava Drury (check out that big smile, after she hit her half century!) Ava opened the batting and went on to score 58 off 65 balls, including four x 4s, finishing not out… that’s a long afternoon in the sunshine, well done Ava!

A big result for Jess Dowling, 28 runs off 15 balls, also not out, and Emily Humphreys bowled a cracking spell of 2 for 9 off four overs.

U16s Tuesday

Sadly we lost our match against Western, who finished 4/112 to our 5/100.

Ava Drury had another great day with the bat, scoring 37, and adding another two x 4s to her tally. Emily Humphreys also made us proud with 24 runs, with a four and a six, and then she bowled 1 for 10 off 4 overs, well done!!

AlexBobbi Smith also managed 1 for 16 off 4 overs, with a run out, great result!

The U19s female team start their quest for the win today…

Good luck to our under 19 Female representative side that start their McDonalds Country Cricket NSW Championships today at Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreational Complex, Tuggerah.

The side will play a 40 over match against ACT in a replay of last year’s final the match will commence at 10am.
